2011 Record results for GCSEs Our Y11 students are celebrating the school’s best ever GCSE results. 47% of examinations were graded at A or A*, and 97% of students achieved at least 5 GCSEs at grade C or above. Outstanding performances included Stephanie Thornley and Sam Jebson with 11As & A*s, Head Girl Caroline Keane, Luke Sheerin, Frances Heath and Grace Trem with 10 As & A*s, and Olivia Vipond and Paul Whyte with 9As & A*s. Lincolnshire Tennis Champion Laura Twidale also found time in her busy schedule to scoop 11 GCSEs. Headmaster David Holland was delighted with the results, saying: “I congratulate everyone on such an excellent set of results. The fact that almost half of all grades were As or A*s reflects a huge amount of hard work by both students and teachers alike. With our new Sixth Form opening in September, we could not have hoped for a better day for all concerned.” He added: ”We have been determined to ensure our pupils take the more demanding subjects and have not chased results by using easier ones – that does pupils a disservice later on.” To see photos of the day please click here. 2010 100% Success Rate for GCSE's Pupils have achieved another remarkable round of GCSE results, with 100% of students gaining the all important 5 good passes at GCSE at grade C or above, and 47% of examinations passed at A* or A. It will be wonderful when our GCSE students can remain with us through to their A-levels.” 2009 100% of students gained the all important 5 good passes at GCSE at grade C or above, including Maths & English.
