This means that higher-rate taxpayers can reclaim the difference between basic rate tax and higher rate (i.e. 20% tax relief will be due).
An example of this:
You give £500 to the school.
We can claim £500 plus £125
You can claim back £125 as a higher-rate taxpayer.
