Entrance Day

Entrance Day for Year 7 at Hill House School

Children who wish to enter the school in Year 7 are asked to sit an entrance test which takes place in January each year. This is to establish that they will be comfortable in the Hill House environment and to assess their academic strengths.
Children who are in school before Year 7 are also obliged to sit the entrance test. Any children entering after Year 7 will be tested at a level appropriate to that at which they are seeking entry. The school intends that Entrance Day will be an enjoyable day which at the same time will provide the school with the information required to make a fair and comprehensive assessment of your child’s strengths. The day will also provide an opportunity for you and your child to gain a feel for the school and also to decide if the environment is right for you. Staff will be on hand at all times and will be happy to answer your questions and address any issues which arise.

Applications for scholarships are also assessed on the same day.

Parents are also reminded that the school offers a small number of means-tested bursaries annually, details of which are available from the Business Manager or Finance Manager.
