ICT
The school is committed to providing every child with computer skills, and each can take IT at GCSE level. Every child has their own e-mail address and classrooms are equipped with computers and interactive whiteboards.
Science
Science is a core subject and is taught with the emphasis on a practical approach, using well-equipped laboratories and regular participation in national competitions, Science Week, and field trips.
Art and Design Technology
Art and DT are fundamental in the education of all our children, drawing out strengths in some, and unimagined artistic and practical talents in others.
Each year we hold an art exhibition, host visiting artists, and regularly enjoy success in local and national competitions.
Music and Drama
At Hill House Music and Drama have a central place, allowing the children to explore a world of creativity and to demonstrate skills in powerful alternatives to the written word.
Presently around 100 pupils play a range of instruments or sing in a school choir. Individuals, groups, ensembles, bands and a number of choirs perform in frequent concerts.
Drama presentations are highlights in the school year. Individuals and small groups are encouraged to write, direct or produce plays and to undertake backstage duties, which draw on differing skills and aptitudes. It is said that drama is the best team game of all.
